All those problems that I face down there, big problems, hard problems, the ones that are unbearable\u2026 now they don\u2019t matter. I can gain a totally different viewpoint there. Little houses, little streets where tiny cars move looking like Hotwheels. Piece of land, that I can see through the small airplane window, looks like a toy, like something unreal.<br \/>At that moment I realize how insignificant and mere I really am. They\u2019re all into their businesses. Some put their noses in their smartphones, completely absent, watching something. Others are frightened because of the flight, and their faces are like: Can this plane really touch down safely? And many others are mousy, looking suspiciously at one another with their masks on, worrying whether someone could infect them with a mysterious illness. We became so strange to ourselves. We\u2019re surrounded by people, but still we\u2019re alienated. <br \/>I, however, unfortunately with a mask on my face too, and even though they can\u2019t see it, grin broadly. Why? Where\u2019s this joy coming from? That\u2019s the reason for me smiling, and you know what? I begin to ask myself: Why? Why does someone like to be my friend? Why does someone sacrifice his holidays to spend his time with me, or to help me? Why does someone thank me for the conversation? Why does someone warn me, when they see something of concern? <br \/>Even though I try so hard\u2026 I can\u2019t find the answer to my questions. I just don\u2019t understand. I simply don\u2019t feel that I deserve all of this, that I was good enough, concerned enough, helpful enough, grateful enough, and that I was there when needed. Sometimes I feel bad about that, because I don\u2019t deserve all the warmth that I receive. <br \/>People chase after many things: fame, applause, money, or they love gadgets (I myself am a fan of some of these). However, there\u2019s a certain wisdom: all of these are vanity. But when you make a call, and you hear a voice saying \u201cOf course I will help you! What can I do?\u201d there\u2019s a real sense of joy, and then you know that your heart should still beat, because there are people that really value you. They are your true friends.<br \/>Do you know what happens next? Gratitude. Once I asked God to give me at least one friend. Now I see, that I\u2019m lucky, because I have a few of them. Terrific, loving people, and I can count on them. They accompany me in hard as well as in happy moments of my life. They are the reason to thank God for giving me more than I ever asked (He always gives more). Thank you, my friends, for being with me, though I often don\u2019t know why. Thank you for your support and the love you\u2019ve shown. I hope that I\u2019ll be able to be a terrific person for you all, as you are for me. Though I don\u2019t mention anyone by name, I\u2019m still sure that these people would know. And if you know, please, remember that I love you so much!<br \/>The \u2018Fasten your seatbelt\u2019 warning light has flashed on, meaning that we\u2019re going to touch down.
